Financial Services Guide – MSC Trustees

Introduction

This Financial Services Guide (FSG) is issued by Melbourne Securities Corporation Limited ACN 160 326 545 (MSC Trustees) on 27 April 2023.

MSC Trustees is licensed by the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) to offer financial services under Australian Financial Services Licence No. 428289 (AFSL).

The purpose of the FSG is to provide information to assist you in deciding whether to use any of the financial services we offer.

  • our remuneration;
  • complaints procedures;

MSC Trustees is a professional trustee firm. Our services include fund trusteeship, responsible entity services, corporate director services, debenture trusteeship, security trusteeship and escrow agency. We partner with Australian and foreign fund managers, fintech and financial services companies to provide services relating to trusteeship, custody and regulatory compliance oversight.

MSC Trustees is authorised under its AFSL to operate registered managed investment schemes and both retail and wholesale corporate collective investment vehicles holding the following kinds of property (including any incidental property):

  • derivatives;
  • direct real property;
  • financial assets;
  • mortgages

The AFSL authorises MSC Trustees to issue a range of financial products, including:

  • derivatives;
  • interests in managed investment schemes;
  • securities.

Under our AFSL, we are authorised to provide general financial product advice about and deal in a range of financial products, including:

  • deposit & payment products;
  • derivatives;
  • foreign exchange contracts;
  • general insurance contracts;
  • debentures, stocks or bonds issued or proposed to be issued by a government;
  • interests in managed investment schemes including IDPS;
  • retirement savings accounts;
  • securities;
  • superannuation;
  • MSC Trustees appoints third party fund managers.

The remuneration of MSC Trustees in its capacity as trustee is governed by the constitution or trust deed and disclosed in the associated disclosure documentation (product disclosure statement or information memorandum) relevant to individual schemes or financial products.

MSC Trustees remuneration in regard to any appointment of authorised representatives will be contractually documented by a corporate authorised representative agreement governing the appointment.

MSC does not provide general advice outside of its role as professional trustee or related services and does not receive any fees, commissions, charges or other benefits specifically for such advice.

The Complaints Manager is obliged to report all complaints to the MSC Trustees Board of Directors. The MSC Trustees Board of
Directors is comprised of a majority of independent directors and is obligated to report any reportable situations directly to ASIC.

Notwithstanding, should you feel that your complaint has not been adequately handled to your satisfaction, you can lodge a complaint
with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA), of which MSC Trustees is a member (No. 31446).

MSC Trustees has professional indemnity insurance in place that satisfies the requirements for compensation arrangements under s912B of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth). The insurance covers claims in relation to the conduct of current and former employees and representatives who no longer work for us (but who did at the time of the relevant conduct).
